Odisha ace Swasti Singh stole the show with two gold medals in the Khelo India Women Road Cycling League (Final), which was held at Gohana in Haryana on 22 and 23 October 2024. She claimed one gold in the 20 km individual time trial, clocking 32 minutes 17 seconds and the other gold in 30 km mass start.
With the two gold in the track final at Gohana, 23-year-old Swasti swelled her total number of medals in Khelo India League this year to 15, which includes five gold and 10 silver. She is also looking forward to end her Khelo India League campaign this year on an equally successful note at the Track Final to be held at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi on October 26 and 27.
Expressing her joy for the double gold in the Road Final, Rourkela cyclist Swasti said,”Based on my training, I was confident of winning both the gold medals. I am also very happy to perform consistently well in the Khelo India Women League this year.”
Employee of Odisha Mining Corporation, Swasti has set herself a target of achieving National record in the upcoming National Championships 2024. The Track National Championship will be held in Chennai next month, followed by the Road National Championship in Puri, Odisha in December.
