A 22-member Odisha squad bagged a total of 11 medals in the Yonex-Sunrise East Zone Inter-State Team & Individual Badminton Championship, which was held at Lord Buddha Badminton Academy in Gaya, Bihar from 5 to 8 September 2024. The 11 medals include three gold, two silver and six bronze.
Odisha asserted supremacy in mens singles with Kalaga Jagadeesh emerging champion, defeating statemate Tahasif Khan in the final. Odisha duo Ayush Pattanayak and Abinash Mohanty claimed the mens doubles crown, defeating Uttar Pradesh opponents Tushan Gagneja and Ayush Agarwal in the summit clash.

Pragati Parida and Visakha Toppo won the womens doubles title for Odisha, getting the better of West Bengal pair of Sutanwi Sarkar and Sayani Sarkar in the final match. Odisha Junior (U-19) boys team, featuring Mayank Bharadwaj, Subhraketan Mallick, Shreyansh Jena and Shreyansh Parida settled as runners-up.
