  OCA U-19 Cricket: Naqueeb haul in vain as Deogarh lose

A six-wicket haul by Sk M Naqueeb went in vain as Deogarh went down fighting to Mayurbhanj by two wickets in in their preliminary league match of the OCA U-19 Mens Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Bidanasi Ground in Cuttack today. Surai Hembram was the star in the Mayurbhanj win, picking up four wickets for 10 runs.

Cuttack-A overcame Bhadrak by two wickets in another match of the day. Allrounder Janamjay Jena put up an impressive performance for the home team, taking two wickets and scoring 22 runs.


6 July 2024 (Match 64, Ravenshaw Ground-1): Bhadrak 109/10 in 35.1 overs (Akash Mohapatra 33, Sahil Khan 22; Sambit Beja 3/17, Janamjay Jena 2/15) lost to Cuttack-A 110/8 in 30.2 overs (Janamjay Jena 22; Chiranjeev Behera 4/36, Sahil Khan 2/15) by 2 wickets. PoM: Sambit Beja.

6 July 2024 (Match 66, Bidanasi Ground): Deogarh 129/10 in 26.4 overs (Sidharth Nayak 30, Hritik Dehury 23; Surai Hembram 4/10, Lokanath Prusty 3/29) lost to Mayurbhanj 133/8 in 32.2 overs (Chandan Singh 31*, Jay Kumar 27; Sk M Naqueeb 6/41, Alok Patra 2/26) by 2 wickets. PoM: Surai Hembram.
