Nishant Dave slammed an unbeaten 167 as Bengal inflicted a humiliating 159-run defeat on Odisha in their opening match of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy East Zone Under-19 One-day Cricket match at Ranchi in Jharkhand today.

Electing to bat, Bengal mustered a massive total of 336 for one. Dave gave Bengal a formidable start in association with his opening partner Abhijit Singh, who also scored a century.

In reply, Odisha were bowled out for 177. Biswajit Bhuyan and Debabrata Pradhan put up some resistance, hitting 43 and 47 respectively. Odisha will next meet Assam on October 7.
