Odisha lost to Maharashtra by eight wickets in their opening match of the All India Senior Women’s T-20 Tournament at Pune today. Electing to bat, Odisha were restricted to 90 for nine in the stipulated overs. In reply, Maharashtra rode on an 84-run opening-wicket partnership between Anagha Deshpande and Smriti Mandhana to romp home with 3.3 overs to spare. Deshpande was dismissed for 39, while Mandhana remained unbeaten on 44. Off-spinner Sushree Dibyadarshini Pradhan claimed both the wickets for Odisha.

Odisha lost the match as they failed to compile a good total. Though their top four batsmen got decent starts, none could stay long to post a sizeable knock. Former India opener Madhuri Meheta was the top scorer with 22 runs.
