Beldih Golf Club of Jamshedpur won the Eastern Region finals of the 9th McDowell`s Signature Club Golf Championship, which concluded here at the Bhubaneswar Golf Club course today. The champion club, comprising Karan Taunk, Pawan Marwa, Amitav Buxi, B S Marwa, Rafi Shekh and Harmit Sabharwal, topped the score board with an aggregate of 130 points.

Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Kolkata finished runners-up with 122 points. Karan Taunk (Beldih Golf Club) and Dalbir Singh (Bhubaneshwar Golf Club) bagged the prizes for longest drive and straightest drive respectively.

Eight leading golf clubs from Eastern India and one club from Nepal battled it out in the two-day zonal championship. Other six clubs included Golmuri Golf Club (Jamshedpur), Digboi Golf Club (Digboi), Shillong Golf Club (Shillong), Tollygunge Golf Club (Kolkata), Cockerel Golf Club (Ranchi) and GoKarna Golf Club (Nepal).

Winners Beldih Golf Club qualified to represent Eastern Region in the all-India finals to be held at Chiang Mai, Thailand from December 7 to 9. Other three qualifiers for the all-India finals include Bangalore Golf Club (Southern Zone), Poona Golf Club (Western Zone) and Lucknow Golf Club (Northern Zone).
