Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) defeated Khurda District Basketball Association (KDBA) 78-76 in the final to emerge champions in 51st Senior State Basketball Championship, which was held at Rourkela from December 12 to 15. Ashok Nayak, Saroj (both BSNL): Prahallad Behera, Satya and Gorachand Mohanty (all Khurda) entertained the crowd with their skill and technique. Earlier in the semifinals, BSNL beat Orissa Police 97-87, while Khurda beat Bhubaneswar 66-44. Altogetehr 16 men’s team participated in the tournament, which served as the basis for selection of Orissa team for the Senior National Basketball Championship to be held at Ludhiana from December 27.
