Ajay Kumar Nishank bagged a double by winning both the men’s singles and doubles titles in the 11th All-Orissa Nalco Open Tennis Tournament at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar today. Experienced Nishank, also an AITA Level-II coach, beat his Ace Base Tennis Resort (ABTR) disciple in the singles final and then joined ABTR partner Lalit Dash to defeat Chinmay Pradhan and Vijay Avinandan in the doubles final.
Local favourites Nikkie Gargi and Abhilipsa Rath won the women and under-14 girls singles crowns respectively. Titles in the boys under-14 and under-18 singles categories went to Adwithiya Patnaik and Anshu Kumar Bhuyan respectively. Nalco Director (Commercial) Anshuman Das, State Agriculture Secretary U P Singh gave away the trophies and cash prizes in the presence of host Bhubaneswar District Tennis Association (BDTA) president Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, vice-president S S Hansdah, secretary Saroj Sahu and tournament referee Subhransu Sarangi.

Men’s singles: Ajay Nishank bt Anshu Bhuyan 6-2, 6-3.
Men’s doubles: Ajay Nishank-Lalit Dash bt Chinmaya Pradhan-Vijay Avinandan 9-7.
Women’s singles: Nikkie Gargi bt Abhilipsa Rath 6-1, 6-2.
Under-14 boys singles: Adwithiya Patnaik bt Shakti Ray 6-1, 6-2.
Under-14 girls singles: Abhilipsa Rath bt Sriti Sanchita 9-5.
Veteran (45 plus) doubles: BN Mohanty-Sanjay Sahoo bt SS Rath-V Ranam 9-5.
Veteran (55 plus): V Raman-GR Das bt Arjun Swain-BK Das 9-0.
