P Jayachandra will lead Orissa in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group-A match against Gujarat to be played at East Coast Railway ground here from December 18 to 21. According to Orissa Cricket Association secretary A Behera, Jayachandra will lead the side in the absence of regular skipper Shiv Sundar Das, who badly injured his right hand in the last match against Mumbai at Cuttack. Orissa will also miss the service of opening batsman Bikash Swarup Pati, who dislocated his shoulder while fielding against Mumbai on Sunday. In the absence of both Das and Pati, Orissa suffered a humiliating 315-run defeat at the hands of 37-time champions Mumbai.
