DESCRIPTION:
*     Altogether 10 countries are participated in the nine-round championship.
*     Teams were: 1. Georgia, 2. Russia, 3. United States of America, 4. Poland, 5. China, 6. Ukraine, 7. Armenia, 8. Kazakhstan, 9. India, 10. Egypt.
*     GM Koneru Humpy, GM Dronavalli Harika, WGM Padmini Rout, WGM Soumya Swaminathan and WGM Mary Ann Gomes represented India in the championship.
*     Odisha IM Padmini Rout scored a brilliant win against former world champion Anna Ushenina to help India played out a draw with top seed Ukrainian in the third round.
*     Playing here as the FIDE President nominee, the Indian eves suffered a shocking 1.5-.2.5 defeat  against minnows Kazakhstan in the first round.
*     India are seeded fifth in the event and eying a medal.
*     D Harika and Koneru Humpy came up with fine individual performances to win a silver and
a bronze respectively, even as the Indian eves finished fourth in the championship.

RESULTS:

Round 1 (April 19): Kazakhstan beat India 2.5-1.5 (Zhansaya Abdumalik drew with K Humpy; D Harika  beat Dinara Sduakassova; Guliskhan Nakhbayeva beat Padmini Rout; Mary An n Gomes lost to Gulmira  Dauletova); Georgia drew with Russia 2-2; Armenia lost to China 1-3; USA beat Egypt 3-1; Armenia lost  to China 1-3; Ukraine lost to Poland 0.5-3.5.

Round 2 (April 20):
India (1) drew with China (3) 2-2 (Koneru Humpy beat Ju Wenjun; Tan Zhongyi drew  with D Harika; Padmini Rout drew with Shen Yang; Lei Tingjie beat Mary Ann Gomes); Russia (2) drew  with Armenia (1) 2-2; Egypt (0) lost to Georgia (3) 0-4; Poland (3) drew with USA (3) 2-2; Kazakhstan (2)  lost to Ukraine (2) 0.5-3.5.

Round 3 (April 21):
Ukraine (3) drew with India (2) 2-2 (Anna Muzychuk drew with Koneru Humpy; D Harika  drew with Mariya Muzychuk; Anna Ushenina lost to Padmini Rout; Natalia Zhukova beat Soumya  Swaminathan; Georgia (5) beat Poland (3) 2.5-1.5; Russia (4) beat China (3) 3-1; Kazakhstan (3) drew with USA (4) 2-2; Egypt (0) lost to Armenia (3) 1-3.

Round 4 (April 22):
India (2) lost to Russia (6) 1.5-2.5 (Koneru Humpy lost to Valentina Gunina; Alexandra Kosteniuk lost to D Harika; Padmini Rout drew with Alexandra Goryachkina; Olga Girya beat Soumya Swaminatha); Georgia (7) beat Kazakhstan 3-1.

Round 5 (April 23): India (3) beat USA (3) 3-1 (Koneru Humpy beat Tatev Abrahamyan, D Harika drew with Katerina Nemcova, Padmini Rout drew with Sabina-Francesca Foisor, Soumya Swminathan beat Alisa Melekhina.

Round 6 (April 25): India (6) beat Egypt (0) 4-0 (Koneru Humpy beat Ayaf Moaataz; Shahenda Wafa lost  to Padmini Rout; Soumya Swminathan beat Amina Sherif; Shrook Wafa lost to Mary Ann Gomes).

Round 7 (April 26): Georgia (13) beat India (6) 2.5-1.5 (Meri Arabidze drew with Koenru Humpy; D Harika  drew with Lela Javakhishvili; Meri Arabidze beat Padmini Rout; Soumya Swminathan drew with Melia Salome).

Round 8 (April 27): India (10) beat Poland (5) 3.5-0.5 (Koneru Humpy beat Monica Socko; Jolanta Zawadzka drew with D Harika; Soumya Swaminathan beat Karina Horowska; Marta Bartel lost to Mary Ann Gomes).

Round 9 (April 29): India (10) beat Armenia (8) 3-1 (Lilit Mkrtchina beat Koneru Humpy; D Harika beat Lilit Galojan; Maria Kursova lost to Padmini Rout; Soumya Swaminathan beat Susanna Gaboyan).
