Odisha sisters Rutaparna and Swetaparna Panda won the womens doubles silver medal in the Cameroon International 2026, a BWF approved tournament, which was held at Palais Polyvalent des Sports de Yaounde (Warda), Cameroon from September 3 to 6. But the achievement came to public notice today.

Rutaparna and her younger sister Swetaparna finished runners-up after losing to top seeds Kavipriya Selvam and Simran Singhi in the all-Indians final 10-21, 16-21. Seeded second, the Panda siblings played a total of three matches, won two and lost one.

Cuttack duo Rutaparna and Swetaparna started their campaign with a bye in the first round. They reached the final, defeating Uganda pair of Gladys Mbabazi and Kruthum Nalumansi 21-10, 21-7 in the quarterfinals and UAE combination of Sreeyuktha Sreejith Parol and Nayonika Rajesh 21-12, 21-14 in the semifinals.
