Odisha competitors won two medals in mens foil Category B. Om Prakash Behera claimed the gold, defeating his Odisha statemate Rudra Narayan Behera, who settled for the silver medal after losing the final 5-15.

The 2026 edition marked a historic turning point as wheelchair and adaptive fencing events were formally incorporated alongside the mainstream U-23 and senior Commonwealth categories.

Indian para fencing squad grabbed a total of 12 medals, which featured six gold, four silver and two bronze. It may be noted that para-fencers with good sitting balance and full movement in their trunk and fencing arm compete in Category A.

Para-fencers with impaired trunk balance or limitations affecting the fencing arm come under Category B. There is also the Category C that features para fencers with severe impairments affecting all limbs (less common in official Paralympic programs).
