Sunrise Club registered a 3-0 emphatic win against Rovers Club in the opening match (Diamond Group) of the MGM-FAO First Division Football League at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack today. Arbin Lakra, Arshad P and captain Arpan Lakra scored the three goals for the winning team.

The MGM-FAO League, featuring a total of 21 teams, is being jointly organized by the Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, and the Football Association of Odisha (FAO). All matches will be played at Barabati Stadium, and the league will continue till August 12.

Cuttack Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Kirandeep Kaur Sahota, was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. FAO vice-presidents Bijay Das, Sahadev Rout, Birendra Behera; joint-secretaries Biswa Ranjan Gharei and Avijit Paul were present on the occasion.

1 July 2026 (Match 1, Diamond Group): Sunrise Club (Arbin Lakra 16, Arshad P 66, Arpan Lakra 90+4) beat Rovers Club 3-0.
