Odisha cycling icon Swasti Singh maintained her supremacy in the domestic competitions of the country by winning the title in the 44km womens professional road race event of the HCL Cyclothon, which was held in Noida, Uttar Pradesh on 15 March 2026. The victory in the four-lap criterium race fetched her a prize of Rs 1,20,000.
Suhani Kumari (Bihar) and Harshita Jaskhar (Rajasthan) finished first and second runners-up respectively. Suhani received Rs 1,00,000, while Harshita became richer by Rs 80,000. Odisha ace Swasti won the Noida HCL Cyclothon title for the second time in a row. She was also the runner-up in the 2023 and 2024 editions.
In the history of HCL Cyclothon, which commenced in 2023, Rourkela cyclist Swasti has bagged nine top-three prizes so far. She has emerged champion four times, finished first runner-up four times and second runner-up once. The Noida HCL Cyclothon title was the second of the year for Swasti, who secured the first one last month in Bangalore.
The Noida cyclothon triumph is sure to further boost the confidence of Swasti, who is gearing up to represent India in the 45th Asian Track Cycling Championship, scheduled to be held in Tagaytay, Philippines from 21 to 31 March 2026.
Swasti was part of the Indian team that won the bronze medal in the elite women 4km team pursuit event at the 41st Asian Track Cycling Championship in New Delhi four years back. That was the first ever medal for the Indian womens team in any Asian Track Cycling Championship. This time Swasti aims to win an individual medal in this continental championship.
