  Grand Prix Tashkent: Odisha cyclist Swasti wins bronze medal

Odisha cycling ace Swasti Singh made the state and the country proud by winning the bronze medal with partner Pooja Danole (Maharashtra) in the women elite 20km madison event of the Grand Prix Tashkent, which was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 6 and 7 May 2026. The Indian duo finished third with 80 points.

Sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), Grand Prix Tashkent 2026 was a two-day Class-2 track cycling event, which awarded valuable ranking points and featured elite cyclists from multiple nations.

Indian mens track cycling team clinched gold in the elite team pursuit event in this Grand Prix earlier on May 6. The Indian quartet of Harshveer Sekhon, Sahil Kumar, Dinesh Kumar and Vishavjeet Singh secured the top podium spot in the 4000m team pursuit event. Dinesh Kumar continued his rise after progressing from grassroots cycling in Odisha to the national team.
