Host Odisha emerged overall champion, bagging a total of 19 medals in the 1st All India Indoor Rowing Championship, which was organised by Orissa Association for Rowing & Sculling (OARS), under the aegis of Rowing Federation of India (RFI) at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack from 8 to 11 April 2026. The 19 medals include 11 gold, six silver and two bronze.
All the 26 medal winners of the Odisha squad are trainees of SAI National Centre of Excellence (NcoE), Jagatpur, Cuttack. Among the 26 Odisha medal winners, seven are native rowers. The Odisha native rowers featured six female (Sonali Swain, Barsharani Sethy, Kamya Priyadarshini Dhal, Riturani Swain, Smriti Ekka and Pratingya Jena) and one male (Ayush Bal).

The four-day National event was inaugurated by former Odisha Police and CRPF Director General Prakash Mishra, who is now functioning as the advisor to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Odisha Olympic Association secretary Avijit Paul and Cuttack Mayor Subash Singh, OARS president Binod Dash and secretary Amarjyoti Singh Deo were present in the opening ceremony.
Former Union Minister and RFI president Brigadier Kamakhya Prasad Singh Deo was the chief of the closing ceremony and handed over the trophies. Odisha Olympic Association president Samir Mohanty, Odisha Cricket Association president Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, OARS president Binod Dash and secretary Amarjyoti Singh Deo were present in the closing ceremony.
