22 Dec 2025

Odisha cycling role-model Swasti Singh continued her domination in the ongoing 77th Senior National Track Cycling Championship, bagging her second individual gold and fourth overall medal at Shivalik Velodrome in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand today.

Swasti won the gold medal today in women elite Omnium event, accumulating a total of 141 points. Meenakshi (Haryana) and Manju Choudhary (Rajasthan) secured the silver and bronze medal with 136 and 123 points respectively.

Omnium is a four-part event, featuring 7.5 km scratch race, 7.5 km tempo race, elimination race and 20 km point race. Swasti won the event with a total time of 35 minutes and 37.056 seconds with an average speed of 42.11 kmph.

Describing her performance today, Odisha ace Swasti said: “I felt very tired before the first race and told my coach Maxat Ayazbayev (Kazakhstan) to pull out. But he advised me to compete and enjoy the race without thinking about the outcome. His words proved to be prophetic as I started enjoying the race and went on to clinch the gold.”

Earlier, Swasti, who is an assistant manager at Odisha Mining Corporation, bagged one gold each in women elite 4 km team pursuit and 4 km individual pursuit, and one silver in team sprint. Thanks to the stellar show by Swasti, Odisha has secured a total six medals so far, including three gold, two silver and one bronze.
