In the U-17 singles final, unseeded Tanvi fought back from a game down to outclash Diksha SR (Tamil Nadu) 20-22, 21-17, 22-20. On her way to the final, the Odisha girl eliminated three seeded opponents.

A trainee of Bangalore-based Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, Tanvi bagged the Sub-junior National U-15 and U-17 singles double crown for the second year in a row. Overall, she has secured a total of nine medals (7 gold, 2 bronze) in Sub-junior and Junior National Championships so far.

Host Odisha captured three medals in the current edition of the Sub-Junior National Championship. Besides the golden double by Tanvi, local pair of Swati Nayak and Nimeesha Ojha won the silver medal in U-15 girls doubles event. The seventh seeded Odisha duo lost to top seeded Maharashtra combination of Sharayu Ranjane and Soyara Shelar 13-21, 15-21 in the summit clash.
