  Swasti wins Tour de Thar 100km endurance cycling race

Odisha cycling star Swasti Singh continued her supremacy in the cycling circuit of the country by winning the women elite 100km road race at the Tour de Thar, the first-ever international-level desert endurance event, which was held at Bikaner in Rajasthan on 23 November 2025.

Swasti won the gruelling race with a time of 3 hours 2 minutes and 40.156 seconds. She received the top prize of Rs 1.25 lakh. Soumya Antapur (Railways) and Harsita Jakhar (Rajasthan) finished second and third respectively.

Organised by Cycling Federation of India (CFI) with the support of Vedanta Limited, the event, which took place from Norangdesar to Deshnok near Bikaner, was flagged off by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. Cyclists from across India and abroad participated in this event.

 

The race traversed the majestic landscapes of the Thar Desert, covering picturesque routes across the Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway and offering participants a one-of-a-kind experience.

The race drew hundreds of professional cyclists, adventure enthusiasts, and community riders to test their endurance, resolve and spirit against the desert. Competition was held across three competitive categories - 100 km, 200 km, and 300 km formats.
