The return of Samantaray and Parida to the Odisha team proved to be a wise decision. Wicket-keeper Sawan Pahariya made his First-Class debut for Odisha, but his performance was insignificant. Guided by former India and Odisha player Debasis Mohanty as coach, Nagaland bowlers did a good job, putting the Odisha batting line-up under pressure early on in both the innings. But as a batting unit, they proved to be ordinary with only Dega Nischal hitting a half-century in both the innings. Odisha will next meet Tamil Nadu at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack from 22 to 25 January 2026.
