Sagar Club trounced Naba Durga Club 4-0 in the opening match of the 44th Suratarangini Challenge Shield Football Tournament at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Bhawanipatna today. Bhukti Nayak scored a brace in the first half, while Tulsi Biswal and Nabaghan Majhi contributed one goal each after the change of ends. Kalahandi SP, Bibek Kumar Rath inaugurated the tournament, which is being organised by Kalahandi District Athletic Association (KDAA). Final match is slated for September 21. Earlier in the day, KDAA observed the National Sports Day by honouring Ganadhip Bhoi with the Kalahandi Krida Ratna Award for the year 2008, posthumously.
