Host Indian defeated defending champions Korea 3-2 in a thrilling encounter of the 7th Mens Asian Champions Trophy Hockey Tournament at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu today. With this win, their third in four matches, India consolidated their position at the top of the points table.

Malaysia edged out Asian Games champions Japan 3-1, while Pakistan registered a hard-earned 2-1 over China in two other matches of the day. India will play their fifth and last league match against arch rivals Pakistan tomorrow.

RESULTS:

August 7 (Match 10): Malaysia (Nazmi Jazlan 13-PC, Azuan Hasan 37-FG, Shello Silverius 59-FG) beat Japan (Takuma Niwa 59-FG) 3-1. PoM: Faiz Jali (Malaysya).

August 7 (Match 11): Pakistan (Muhammad Khan 20-PC, Afraz 39-FG) beat China (Jiesheng Gao 33-PC) 2-1. PoM: Muhammad Khan.

August 7 (Match 12): India (Nilakanta Sharma 6-FG, Harmanpreet Singh 23-PC, Mandeep Singh 33-FG) beat South Korea (Sunghyun Kim 12-FG, Jihun Yang 58-PC) 3-2. PoM: Mandeep Singh.
