Odisha lost to Uttarakhand by four wickets in their opening Elite Group-D match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy Cricket Tournament at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai today. Chasing 179 for victory, Uttarakhand romped home in 42 overs, losing six wickets in the process.

Put into bat by Uttarakhand captain Akash Madhwal, Odisha were bowled out for 178 in 44.2 overs. Among leading Odisha run-getters, Subhranshu Senapati (60) and Anshuman Rath (51) hit a half-century each.

The duo put on 103 runs in their second-wicket partnersuip to put Odisha in a good position. But from 169 for three, Odisha crashed to 178 all out, losing seven wickets for nine runs.

On the other hand, Uttarakhand fought back from 27 for four to win the match with eight overs to spare, thanks to an unbeaten 80 by Dikshanshu Negi and 48 by Swapnil Singh. Odisha left-arm spinner Saurabh Kanojia made an insignifical List-A debut in this match.
