09 Jun 2022

Athletes have bagged three medals for Odisha so far in the ongoing 4th Khelo India Youth Games, which is being conducted in Panchkula, Haryana from 3 June 2022. The three medals include one silver and two bronze.

Aryan Ekka won the silver medal in mens 200m sprint, clocking 22.10 seconds on June 9. Aryan is a trainee of Bhubaneswar-based Odisha Reliance Foundation Athletics High Performance Centre.

He credited his winning mentality that he regained with the help of his coaches and support staff after getting injured in the National Federation Cup Junior Athletics Championship in Nadiad, Gujarat earlier this month.

The two bronze medals were claimed by A Graceson Jeeva and Sabita Toppo. Both Graceson and Sabita also belong to Odisha Reliance Foundation Athletics HPC.

Graceson, who is from Tamil Nadu, secured the bronze medal in mens 110m hurdles with a timing of 13.68 seconds on June 8.

Earlier on 7 June, Sabita Toppo won the bronze in womens long jump. She finished third with a jump of 5.60m. Four athletes, including one woman, are representing Odisha in the Khelo India Youth Games.
