  Soubhagya wins Golden King All Odisha snooker crown

Soubhagya Behera emerged champion in the 6th Golden King All-Odisha Snooker Tournament, defeating top seed Subrat Das by 6-4 frames in the final at the Golden King Snooker Centre in Cuttack today. Second seed Soubhagya won the best-of-11-frame final 52-70, 61-5, 78-28, 64-62, 16-60, 53-36, 31-59, 60-62, 66-14, 49-40.

Earlier in the semifinals, Soubhatya beat Rakesh Roshan Pradhan 5-2, while Subrat prevailed over Mohammad Raza 5-1. Mihir Vora, Gyana Ranjan, Varun Purba and Satyadeep Das lost in the quarterfinals.

A total of 32 leading cueists of the State participated in the six-day tournament, which was organised by Golden King Snooker Centre. State Bank of India Cuttack Branch AGM, Santosh Kumar Behera was the chief guest at the presentation ceremony.

Bluetech Managing Director Mishal Swain was the guest of honour. Golden King Snooker Centre owner Gyana Ranjan Behera was also present on the occasion.

Champions Soubhagya received the top prize of Rs 20,000, while runner-up Subrat received Rs 10,000. The losing semifinalists were given Rs 5,000 each, while the losing quarterfinalists took home Rs 1,500 each.

About Golden King Snooker Centre: GKSC was established in the year 2015 by former National level wrestling silver medallist Gyana Ranjan Behera, who is also the proprietor of GK Corporations.

The 1st edition of Golden King All Odisha Snooker Tournament was held in 2015. The tournament could not take place in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
