Samir Ranjan Pal and Parbati Goadba will lead Odisha boys and girls teams respectively in the 24th Youth National Volleyball Championship, scheduled to be held at Islampur, Sangli, Maharashtra from 10 to 15 May 2022. Both the teams have 12 players each.

According to Odisha Volleyball Association General Secretary Dr Gaganendu Dash, the State teams were finalized after selection trials and coaching camp both of which were held at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.

Out of total of 80 boys and girls, who participated in the day-long selection trials on May 1, as many as 17 boys & 14 girls were chosen for the coaching camp. The final teams were announced today after the conclusion of the camp.

Both the teams left for Sangli today, accompanied by four officials. Volleyball Federation of India President Prof Achyuta Samanta conveyed his good wishes to players and officials of both the teams.

BOYS: Samir Ranjan Pal (Captain), Raju Pattanayak, Amit Parida, Sritam Behera, Subrat Behera, Gobinda Prasad Barik, Akash Patra, Sunil Kumar Dhal, Bibek Sahoo, Shakti Ranjan Mallick, Suef Khan, Debasish Prusty (Libero). Chief Coach: Ashutosh Patra; Assistant Coach: Narayan Sahoo.

GIRLS: Parbati Goadba (Captain), Rosalin Andia, Ruchismita Sahoo, Manorama Behera, Suchismita Dinda, B Anisha, Sarojini Samal, Rinki Kirsani, Payal Kandi, Laxmipriya Rout, Shruthi Thapa, Lipsarani Mishra (Libero). Manager: Diya Mazumder; Coach: Gobinda Chandra Sahoo.
