Pyari Xaxa and Manisa Panna were felicitated on the occasion for representing the India in the recently concluded AFC Asia Cup. Former India women football team captains Sradhanjali Samantaray and Sasmita Mallick were present on the occasion.

OWL 2022 would feature six teams _ Odisha Police, East Coast Railway, Odisha Government Press, Sports Odisha, SAI Training Centre and Rising Student Club. Another team (seventh) has been added in the fixture as Odisha Under-18 who would be competing for developmental purpose and would not be part of the points table.

OWL will be played in a double leg format. The champion team will qualify to the Indian Women League (IWL) to the conducted later by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
