  Women Natl T20 for Blind: Odisha finish runners-up

Defending champions Odisha finished runners-up in the 2nd Womens National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind, losing to Karnataka by five wickets in the repeat final at Altiore Sports Ground in Bengaluru today. Odisha batter Jhili Birua was awarded as the player of the tournament for scoring a total of 216 runs.

In the semifinals yesterday, Odisha demolished Delhi by 129 runs at Altiore Sports Ground. Player of the match Jhili Birua and Rachana Jena starred in the Odisha win with unbeaten knocks of 93 and 82 respectively.

 

Odisha reached semifinal by winning all three of their league matches in Group-A. They thrashed Haryana by 10 wickets at Nirman Cricket Ground, Madhya Pradesh by 64 runs and Maharashtra by 101 at Altiore Sports Ground in Bengaluru.

March 1:
Haryana 39/3 in 15 overs (Padmini Tudu 1/4) lost to Odisha 40/0 in 2.5 overs (Phula Soren 34*) by 10 wkts. PoM: Phula Soren.
March 2: Odisha 149/3 in 15 overs (Rachana Jena 67*, Phula Soren 34*, Jhili Birua 28) beat Madhya Pradesh 83/5 in 15 overs (Padmini Tudu 1/19) by 66 runs. PoM: Rachana Jena.
March 3: Odisha 191/2 in 15 overs (Jhili Birua 64, Padmini Tudu 42*, Rachana Jena 33, Phula Soren 25*) beat Maharashtra 90/6 in 15 overs (Jamuna Rani Tudu 1/17) by 101 runs. PoM: Jhili Birua.
March 4 (Semifinals): Odisha 187/0 in 15 overs (Jhili Birua 93*, Rachana Jena 82*) beat Delhi 58/10 in 11.2 overs (Parbati Tudu 2/21, Jamuna Rani Tudu 1/9) by 129 runs. PoM: Jhili Birua.
March 5 (Final): Odisha 148/7 in 20 overs (Jhili Birua 31, Rachana Jena 26, Padmini Tudu 22; Ganga 1/3, Varsha U 1/25) lost to Karnataka 150/5 in 16.5 overs (Varsha U 62*, Ganga 43; Rachana Jena 1/32, Lina Swain 1/32) by 5 wkts. PoM: Varsha U.
