Host Odisha got off to a winning start in the 70th Senior National Volleyball Championship with their men and women teams beating Bihar and Pondicherry respectively in league matches at the Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium, KIIT Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar today.
Led by Diptiraj Mishra, Odisha men prevailed over Bihar by 3-0 sets (25-15, 25-22, 25-15) in Group C. Vala Chetna also captained Odisha women to a comfortable 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-15) win over Pondicherry in Group D.
