Odisha Volleyball Association (OVA) is all set to achieve a hat-trick by hosting the Senior National Volleyball Championship for the 3rd time in a row at Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium in KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar from 7 to 13 February 2022. This would be the 70th edition of the Senior National Championship.

OVA also played host to the 68th and 69th editions of the championship in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The 70th Senior National will be the fifth National Volleyball Championship in Odisha since 2009. Before the Senior Nationals, Odisha hosted the 36th Junior National Championship in 2009 and the 41st Sub-Junior National Championship in 2019.

The past four four National championships were also held at at KIIT Campus, Bhubaneswar. This has been possible mainly because of the patronage extended by KIIT and KISS Founder and Kandhamal MP Prof Achyuta Samanta, who is also the President of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI).

Around 1200 players from 28 States and eight Union Territories would vie for the men and women titles in the ensuing Senior National Championship, which would serve as selection trial for Asian Championship and Asian Games 2022.
