Odisha iron woman Jhilli Dalabehera won a silver medal in womens 49kg category at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships at Tashkent in Uzbekistan today. She lifted a total of 167kg, which included 73kg in snatch and 94kg in clean & jerk.

Peter Stella Kingsley of Nigera won the gold medal ahead of Jhilli with a total effort of 168kg (72+96). This was the 10th international medal for the Odisha lifter, who hails from Khurda district and works for Indian Railways.

Jhilli was competing in the weight category of Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu who had pulled out of the Commonwealth Championships as well as the World Championships which are being held simultaneously in Tashkent.
