  Balasore men, KIIT women win State Sr kho-kho titles

Balasore men and KIIT Women emerged champions in the 54th Senior State Kho-Kho Championship, which concluded at Anugul Stadium in Angul today. The three-day championship was organised by Odisha Kho-Kho Association in collaboration with Angul District Administration.

In the mens final, Balasore beat Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) 19-18. Jagatsinghpur men finished third. KIIT won the womens final, defeating Balasore 15-9. Jagatsinghpur women also secured the third position.

Odisha Assembly Deputy Speaker Rajanikanta Singh graced the closing ceremony as chief guest and handed over the trophies. Angul Additional Collector (Revenue) Santosh Pradhan, DRDA Project Director Dillip Sahu, Jindal Executive Director Ravishankar and Odisha Kho-Kho Association Secretary Pradyumna Mishra were present on the occasion.

A total of 560 players from 22 districts represented 22 men and 18 women teams in this championship. The State championship will serve as the basis for selection of Odisha men and women teams for the 54th Senior National Kho-Kho Championship, scheduled to be held at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh from 26 to 30 December 2021.
