  Cricket: Odisha make winning start in Nagesh Trophy

A three-wicket haul by Pankaj Bhue and an unbeaten half-century by Sukhram Majhi propelled Odisha to a seven-wicket win over Tamil Nadu in their opening Group-B match of the Nagesh Trophy National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind at Dwarka Cricket Ground in New Delhi today.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Tamil Nadu compiled a competitive total of 128 for six. Arun Kumar was the top scorer with 51 runs. Pankaj Bhue took three wickets for Odisha, conceding 18 runs.

Chasing 129 for victory, Odisha romped home in 11.1 overs, losing three wickets in the process. Sukhram Majhi top scored with an unbeaten 58 off 33 balls, while Lal Prasad Soren contributed 29 off 13 balls.

Bhue was declared as the man of the match. Odisha will next play Jharkhand at Saket Cricket Ground in Delhi tomorrow.
