  Mangala march into Futsal Club Championship SFs

Riding on a hat-trick by Babul Rout, Mangala Club, Cuttack beat Classic Football Academy, Mizoram 6-4 in their 3rd and last Group-D league match to march into the semifinals of the 1st Hero Futsal Club Championship at KD Jadhav Hall, Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex in New Delhi today.

This was the third successive win for Mangala Club and they emerged group toppers with full nine points. After trailing 0-2, the Cuttack team bounced back in style to clinch a convincing win over Classic FA. Rout was adjudged the player of the match. Mangala will now lock horns with Delhi FC in the second semifinal on November 12.

Besides Rout, captain Dinabandhu Das scored twice and Bapuni Bindhani netted once for Mangala. With the brace today Das became the second highest scorer of the tournament with 13 goals to his name. Rout has scored 10 goals so far.

RESULT (November 10): Mangala Club (Bapuni Bindhani 17th, Babul Kumar Rout 20th, 21st, 36th; Dinabandhu Das 28th, 32nd) beat Classic Football Academy (Ganningam Malangmei 4th, 11th, 18th; Gogocha Chungkham 25th) 6-4. PoM: Babul Kumar Rout.
