Hockey Gangpur-Odisha is organising the 1st Gangpur Gold Cup Men’s Hockey Tournament at the Biju Patnaik Hockey Stadium here from November 24. Altogether eight teams are participating in the event which will conclude on November 30.

Rourkela Steel Plant Chief Executive Officer GS Prasad inaugurated the tournament, which is being organised by Hockey Gangpur-Odisha. The host body`s vice-president and hockey Olympian Lazarus Barla was present on the occasion. The champion team will be awarded cash award of Rs1 lakh and the runners-up Rs 50,000.

Match No 2: Jindal Steel beat SAI Centre, Sundargarh 4-1.
Match No 3: SAIL Hockey Academy, Rourkela beat Odisha Postal Department 6-3.
Match No 4: Panposh Sports Hostel, Rourkela drew with East Coast Railway 0-0.
