Kalinga Basketball Club (KBC) emerged champions in the Kalinga Cup Basketball Tournament, defeating Shining Star Club 78-57 in the final at Kalinga Enclave Basketball Complex, 120 Infantry Battalion today.
Government Sports Hostel finished third, getting the better of IMFA Sports Club 41-39.
Colonel Y K Goutam of host 120 Infantry Battalion gave away the prizes at the closing function. Khurda District Basketball Association secretary Prasant Nayak was present on the occasion. The three-day tournament, featuring five teams, was earlier inaugurated by Colonel Goutam, CO 120 Infantry Battalion.
Former basketball international Aurpananda Routray was present on the occasion. Teams include Government Sports Hostel, 120 Infantry Battalion, Kalinga Basketball Club, Shining Star Club and IMFA Basketball Club.
