DAV School, Chandrasekharpur emerged champions in the Sahodaya Complex Inter-CBSE School Football Tournament, outplaying DAV School, Unit-VIII by 3-0 goals in the final at Sainik School ground here today.

The winners scored all three goals in the second half, displaying fine ball control and shooting skill. Biswajit Patnaik, the captain of the Chandrasekharpur school, was adjudged as the player of the final match and the highest scorer of the tournament with six goals.

Earlier in the semifinals, DAV Chandrasekharpur beat DPS, Kalinga with 2-1, while and DAV Init-VIII got the better of Sai International school 3-2 in the penalty shoot out. As many as 21 schools of Bhubaneswar Chapter participated in the four-day tournament.

Diganta Thapa of the champion team and Om Prakash of the runners-up outfit were adjudged as the best player and best goalkeeper of the tournament.

Host Sainik School principal and Sahodaya Complex chairman, Group Captain K C Taneja handed over the trophy at the closing ceremony. Sainik School Head Master Lt Col S N Mehata was present on the occasion.
