Rourkela emerged champions in the State Level Women`s Football Tournament, edging out Sundargarh by a solitary second-half goal at Ispat Stadium here today. Arati Khadia scored the crucial goal in the 53rd minute to be adjudged the player of the tournament.

Arati`s teammates Parbati Kujur, Sita Sharma and Kunti Kumari Lakra received prizes as player of the final, best goalkeeper and best mid-fielder of the tournament respectively. The prizes for best defender and best striker were claimed by Sundargarh`s Dighi Majhi and Pyari Xaxa respectively.

Altogether eight teams participated in the week-long tournament, which was organised by Panposh Sports Association.

RESULTS:
August 16 (QF): Rourkela Steel Plant (Lata Khadia 12, Karishma Oram 18) beat Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, Bhubaneswar 2-0.
August 17 (QF): Kendrapada beat Puri 4-1 in penalty shoot-out.
August 18 (SF): Rourkela Steel Plant (Arati Lakra 15) beat Kendrapada 1-0.
August 19 (QF): Sundargarh (Pyari Xaxa 10th, 23rd, 34th and 47th; Jobamani Soren 51st) beat Urmila Football Club, Bhubaneswar 5-0.
August 20 (QF): Rajgangpur (Satya 45th, 55th) Satya beat Cuttack 2-0.
August 21 (SF): Sundargarh (Pyari Xaxa 39th, 55th) beat Rajgangpur 2-0.
August 22 (Final): Rourkela (Arati Khadia 53rd) beat Sundargarh 1-0.
