Kendrapara lifted the P C Behera Memorial Trophy for the first time by emerging champions in the 13th Senior Women Inter-District Football Tournament at Bargarh today. In the exciting final, Kendrapara edged out defending champions Cuttack 5-2 in penalty shoot out.

The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and the runner-up outfit was given Rs 10,000. Odisha Textiles & Handloom Minister Snehangini Chhuria handed over the trophy at the closing function. Bargarh MP Dr Pravas Singh, Bijepur MLA Subala Sahu, Football Association of Odisha secretary Sanjay Behera and Bargarh District Athletic Association secretary Prabhat Aditya Mishra were present on the occasion.
