Bhadrak women and Ganjam men emerged champions in the Padmanav Memorial 15th Inter-District Sepak-takraw Championship, which concluded here at Kalinga Stadium today. Bhadrak beat Cuttack City 15-10, 15-9 in women`s final, while Ganjam defeated Koraput 15-8, 15-9 in men`s title clash.

Earlier in the women`s semifinals, Bhadrak overcame Cuttack District 15-12, 10-15, 15-12 and Cuttack City prevailed over Cuttack Sadar 12-15, 15-7, 16-14. In the men`s last-four round, Ganjam got the better of Boudh 15-11, 13-15, 15-12 and Koraput blanked Bhadrak 16-14, 15-13.

As many as 28 men teams and 18 women teams participated in the two-day event. Odisha Olympic Association president Sameer Dey handed over the trophies in the presence of host Bhubaneswar Sepak Takraw Association secretary Pradeep Kumar Routray.

Among others, Dr Dilip shrichandan, Amaya Kumar Das, Prithwiraj Harichandan, Aurovinda Mitra, Ashok Mohanty, Surendra Singh Bhoi, Er Jaganath Pradhan, Dr S R Parija, Naba Ranjan Patnaik, Naba Kishore Behera and Odisha State Sepak Takraw Association working secretary Sahadev Rout were present on the occasion.
