  KALINGA STADIUM, THE FACE OF ODISHA SPORTS  
 
State-owned Kalinga Stadium is the biggest of its kind in Odisha, featuring infrastructure facility for several disciplines. Located in the heart of capital city Bhubaneswar, the picturesque stadium has an astro-turf hockey complex, international-standard swimming complex, synthetic track for athletics, international-standard football ground, 10 tennis courts, three basketball courts, three volleyball courts, three practice fields, two hostel building, 37 A/C Deluxe rooms, 26 dormitories with a capacity to accommodate 470 sportspersons, two gymnasiums, conference room, a jogging track etc. The main stadium has a 50,000 seating capacity. Government College of Physical Education and Nehru Yuva Kendra also function from this stadium. The stadium staged Hockey India League matches in 2014. It also hosted national-level competitions in athletics, tennis, football, swimming, rugby and kickboxing. Barija Ranjan Mohanty is the in-charge of the stadium.
 
 
 
The stadium has been beautified with a addition of flowering plants and landscapes.
 
 
 
Entry of vehicles has been restricted inside Kalinga Stadium. Reason? It causes inconvenience for walkers and joggers. But people walk on the stadium road even though there is a separate track for the purpose. On the other hand, restriction on entry of vehicles has caused inconvenience for sportspersons and spectators.
